Prime 131

Houston, TX

Evoking the electric ambiance of New York’s chic yet edgy Meatpacking District in the early 90s, Prime 131 ignites a memorable dining experience where the artistry of grilling takes center stage.

Prime 131’s rough industrial concept uses exposed metals, open ceiling, rustic textures paired with soft, modern upholstery fabrics to bring a feeling of vintage New York juxtaposed with a more modern, elegant flair. The concept is created within a former door warehouse and industrial factory where hints of the building’s previous life can be seen as you walk through the space. An old factory crane was painted red and given a new purpose within the space, as well as antique accessories, serving stations and mirrors. All the lighting is made from antique parts including street and factory lamps and an old dental lamp repurposed from a Round Top vintage store. The concrete floor and embedded industrial floor scale is original to the space and was polished and stained to mesh well with the overall vibe. For visiting guests, Prime 131 offers 11 unique experiential dining zones, each with a different look, feel and purpose but all with a direct vantage point to the live fire station. This approach ensures that every seat within the concept is the best seat in the house – a well-known nod to Berg’s B&B Butcher concept of its coveted table 131.
